How to furnish your house for free

When we moved into our first house, just over a year ago, we spent all our savings and cash on the deposit to get the best possible interest rate for our mortgage.

So..what do you do with a house with three bedrooms with existing furniture for only one bedroom? You go to freecycle. Freecycle is a platform where people exchange stuff they don’t want anymore to avoid throwing it away. We’ve received a carpet with underlay that used to be in a guest room and looks like new and is now in our spare room. We are so rich as a society that you can find gems for free like sofas, tables, chairs as well as sewing machines, TVs and so on.

Try it, have a go and remember to freecycle when you don’t need it anymore.
